Pay up for HCA!

Unite members working at the HCA will be on strike on Thursday 19th May!

Unite members at the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) are taking industrial action after rejecting a pay offer from the agency this week.

In February, the HCA offered to increase staff salaries by an average of 1%, which would be backdated to July 2015.

However, Unite officials are calling for a flat rate payment to reflect the cost of living instead of a 1% increase which only benefits higher paid staff.

Unite members are striking for fair pay and proper negotiations and believe that everything that has been asked for is entirely reasonable, feasible, and within the powers of the Agency to deliver.

HCA have refused to negotiate for the last 11 months and are now imposing a pay settlement that members believe is divisive, unfair and in breach of contractual rights.

You can support these workers in a number of ways:

Strike Pay AppealThe first strike date has been agreed for Thursday 19th May, with at least two more days proposed on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th June.  We are therefore urgentlyappealing for donations to our strike fund to assist those on strike and minimise hardship. You can contribute as follows:

Picket Line Support: Please also join us on our picket lines on Thursday 19th May if at all possible. These will be held between 8am and 11am as follows:
