PARLIAMENTARY REPORT INTO BULLYING – MORE MUST BE DONE
DECEMBER 10, 2018
Unite National Officer, Siobhan Endean appeared on Radio 5 live this morning talking about parliamentary staff and the work our union reps are doing to support dignity at work.
Siobhan emphasised the need for the voice of staff to be amplified in the discussion of new processes and in eliminating the culture of bullying and harassment and believes that Parliament cannot set itself apart from other workplaces. It must provide a safe working environment for employees. You can listen to Siobhan's contribution here. (skip to 1hr 38 mins - 01:38:00)
Radio 5 Live have also undertaken their own research into parliamentary abuse and the headline findings can be viewed below.
Unions help make workplaces safe and put power in the hands of staff, and Unite has been calling on Theresa May PM, all Party Leaders and Marcial Boo, IPSA Chief Executive to recognise Unite as the trade union of parliamentary researchers and staff across political parties and to work with the union to clean up employment practices at the Palace of Westminster.
